Frequently Asked Dentistry Questions

People are often hesitant to do something they’ve been told will be good for them because they don’t completely understand it. At Muse Dental Studio, we want all our patients to understand and feel comfortable with every aspect of their treatment. We don’t just go out of our way to educate our patients about treatments in our office, but we also help them learn proper dental health care at home. The better care you take care of your teeth outside our office, the easier it will be to minimize problems and save money on treatments that could have been avoided with proper oral hygiene.

Below are answers to some of the questions we get asked the most. And if you have a question that doesn’t appear in this list, be sure to give us a call!

Q: How often should I visit the dentist?

AFor the average person, we typically recommend seeing your dentist about every six months for cleanings and checkups. However, if we notice a problem during one of these visits, we may ask you to come back in sooner to fix it. If you come to us with an ongoing problem, like gum disease or several damaged teeth, you may need to visit more frequently.

Q: Can I bring my child to Muse Dental Studio?

ADefinitely yes! We love to see children in the office so we can make sure they are practicing good dental hygiene and correct any issues while they are still minor. Our staff goes the extra mile to make children feel comfortable coming to our office, and we will do our best to help keep every year cavity free.

Q: How should I replace my missing teeth?

AIt depends on the reason they are missing. In most cases, our first and best recommendation is dental implants. They are the most long-lasting, most natural-looking option and provide the best oral health solution. However, there are other alternatives. How to replace a missing tooth or teeth is something you and your dentist should decide on together. In the meantime, you can learn more about implants here.

Q: Can I straighten my teeth without getting traditional metal braces?

AAt Muse Dental Studio, we offer Invisalign® and Fastbraces®, both of which work in less time than traditional braces, are much less visible, and much more aesthetically pleasing. They can be used in the majority of situations. Your dentist will be more than happy to discuss orthodontic options with you. Right now, you can even save money on Invisalign® by redeeming our special offer here. If you still want or need traditional braces, we offer them too.

Q: My jaw makes noises when I open or close it, and sometimes it even hurts. What can I do?

AIt sounds like you may have an issue with your Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ), which is basically the hinge that lets your mouth open and close. There are several reasons for issues of this kind, and it’s more common than you might think. Fortunately, we have a number of options that can allow us to diagnose and treat these issues, leaving you pain free and stopping those pops and clicks you hear. To figure out what is causing your problem and how we can fix it, contact us today.

Q: Help! I’m in a lot of dental pain. What should I do?

AThere’s not much worse than a bad toothache or pain from a tooth that gets broken or injured. At Muse Dental Studio, we’re ready to help. Just call us! We can walk you through first-aid tips over the phone and schedule an appointment to get you in as soon as possible. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need help in a hurry!

Q: I have sleep apnea. Can my dentist help?

AMuse Dental Studio is proud to be able to offer help in this area. Our dentists have received the proper training and experience to help you overcome snoring and sleep apnea. We can design a small appliance that fits over your teeth and slightly shifts the lower jaw forward while you sleep. This helps your airway stay open all night. If you have this problem or you sleep next to someone who does and can’t sleep because of their snoring, give us a call today.
