Porcelain Veneers and Their Benefits
Veneers are super-thin coverings made of durable dental porcelain that are bonded to the front surfaces of teeth to correct cosmetic imperfections. They are always custom-made to your smile preferences, so it doesn’t matter how many teeth you want to improve. Whether you have just one tooth that’s bothering you, or you want to revamp your entire grin, one of our cosmetic dentists can help you achieve the smile of your dreams.
Porcelain veneers come with a whole host of benefits, besides utterly transforming your smile and giving you a large boost in self-confidence. They can conceal a variety of flaws in just one procedure. They also are a more conservative treatment than other options such as crowns. With crowns, more natural tooth enamel must be removed. Veneers allow you to keep more of your original tooth structure. The whole thing can also be completed in two easy appointments with one of our dentists. Finally, veneers are easy to maintain. Simply brush and floss as normal and you can expect your veneers to last for more than a decade before they need to be replaced.
What Problems Veneers Can Solve
Porcelain veneers can be used to correct multiple imperfections at once. They are used to:
- Close slight gaps between teeth
- Restore teeth that have been worn down, chipped, cracked, or broken
- Correct teeth that are slightly misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped
- Conceal stains or discoloration on teeth
The Veneers Process
After the initial consultation, getting porcelain veneers takes just two easy appointments with either Dr. Tatari or Dr. Ebrahimi. First, they will reshape the surface of the teeth that will receive the veneers. After deciding whether or not you will need local anesthetic, the dentist will trim some of your enamel to ensure that the veneers lay flush against your teeth. Then, we will take impressions of your prepped teeth and send those off to our lab. In the meantime, we can install temporary veneers to let you take your beautiful new smile for a test drive. After we have notified you when your permanent veneers are ready, return to our office to have them bonded to your pearly whites, and voila! Your gorgeous new grin is here to stay.
